The V__pro 8 — bringing together what belongs together.
Conceptually, the V__pro 8 resembles a bridge builder. It decodes signals from several signal formats, then transforms them from one format to another. Its greatest advantage: The V__pro 8 combines a number of different tasks in one tool, thus guaranteeing maximum efficiency and greatest operating safety at significantly reduced cost.

For the perfect synchronization of different signal worlds

The V__pro 8 is the perfect tool to connect signals of different video formats as well as between audio and video. High quality cross format conversion, color correction as well as embedding and de-embedding makes the V__pro 8 a compact and powerful video processor, building bridges between video formats. Modern high density audio connections such as RAVENNA and MADI provide video-to-audio bridges within the studio infrastructure. A modern GUI based on HTML5 is the interface for easy handling in day-to-day work.

Here's how it works: eight high quality 3G SDI de-embedders and the same number of embedders are looped into the eight video signals according to your preferences. This enables any number of audio signals to be used from the video material, while new audio signals can be embedded into the video signal. Thanks to MADI connectivity, the handling of such a great number of audio signals becomes child's play. In addition, sample rate Converters in the embedders enable different "reference worlds" between audio and video - a simple, reliable, and efficient solution

  • High-quality algorithms guarantee perfect video signals.
  • High-quality Cross Format Converter for the conversion of video signals to any relevant broadcast format (for instance, productions in 1080P can be converted into 1080i, 720P, and480i at the same time).
  • Thumbnails to provide previews of video signals on the V__pro8's GUI. The thumbnails can be accessed through Ethernet and can be displayed on an external remote system or on your mixing console in the future.
  • Monitoring functions for perfect control over all video signals.
  • Using Quadsplit, an additional video output displays up to four video sources at the same time, while Waveform and Vectorscope Displays enable evaluation of video adjustments in the V__pro8's GUI.
  • The features are complemented by two 5.1 stereo downmixes for each embedder as well as up to 320 ms delay/mono channel.

High usability, intuitive controls

Innovative functions are only useful in combination with user-friendly controls. Consequently, the V__pro8 provides an easy-to-understand HTML 5 based touchscreen interface that runs
directly within the web browser. Thereby, you benefit not only from state-of-the-art user-guidance, but also from elegant animations and many, practical features such as the video channel preview on your GUI. The installation of the V__pro8 is equally simple: It can be quickly and easily integrated into the mc² series and, thanks to MADI connections and RAVENNA, delivers a previously unheard of level of efficiency when connected to routing matrices.

The V__pro8 in action — example "Broadcast"

You are producing three HD mixes and sending video and audio to the V__pro8 while simultaneously receiving an embedded signal in HD and SD. Parallel to this, two additional de-embedding processes can be used to send the audio signal directly to your mixing console. Moreover, it is possible to select in the embedder whether the 5.1 mix should be downmixed to stereo.

External video signals can be frame synchronized and format converted in order to adjust (external) signals, such as downlinks or third-party cameras, to the production format. Color Correction further allows the optimal adjustment of colors in each video channel, while a video delay of up to eight frames and up to 320 ms/audio channel guarantees perfect lip synchronization.
